Founded in 2013, SETAREH operates Internationally with multiple locations in Düsseldorf and one in Berlin, which is housed in a historic gallery space on Schöneberger Ufer which dates back to 1910.
We work to present a dynamic exhibition program and represent artists to actively further their projects by participating in the larger contemporary art dialogue with partners around the world.

With roots in the Modern and strong commitment to the present, the gallery presents multiple strands of programming. The main exhibition program includes critical solo presentations of gallery artists and often contextualizes these emerging and established positions with their Modernist forebears. This objective seeks to make connections between artist's works from different eras to both strengthen and confront each and gain further critical perspective. We also run an emerging artist platform, SETAREH X, dedicating to supporting new voices early in their career.

Alongside exhibitions of important new directions in art, the gallery works to create scholarship on important postwar artists to realize a historic perspective. Important exhibitions have been dedicated to Italian Modernism, Women of Abstract Expressionism, Recent Art from Iran and the ZERO group, and are often punctuated with important emerging artist group exhibitions.

SETAREH regularly produces scholarly catalogues and books to accompany exhibitions and curatorial projects. With an innovative approach to presentation platforms, and early and inventive use of digital tools, SETAREH establishes an active online exchange between our community and the wider public through artist interviews, viewing rooms and virtual tours and continues to develop a wide range of virtual points of contact for our global community.
